Muddy Boots Escapes Ltd
Cookie Policy
Cookies, browser storage and your choices when using our website.
Policy updated: 11 October 2026
1. About this policy
This policy explains cookies and similar storage/access technologies associated with the Muddy Boots Escapes website. Muddy Boots Escapes Ltd, company number 14702173, is responsible for our website decisions. Our registered office and formal correspondence address is Unit 27, Cumberland House, Business Park, St Lukes Road, Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria CA17 4HT. Email [email protected] or call 07346 006156 with questions.
Our Privacy & Data Protection notice explains personal information processing, providers, retention and your rights.
2. What cookies and similar technologies do
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. A cookie may last for a browsing session or remain until it expires or is deleted. Similar rules apply to technologies such as local storage, device identifiers and scripts that store or access information on your device.
An embedded service can also receive connection information, such as your IP address, when it loads, even if it does not set a cookie. Cookie controls do not necessarily stop all server-side processing.
3. Our services and consent controls
Our website uses Lodgify for website hosting, bookings and its native cookie consent banner. Google Analytics is enabled through Lodgify’s Marketplace integration. According to Lodgify, this integration, including its automatic purchase events, follows the analytics choice made in the native banner, and that choice carries across to its checkout.
We also use Stripe for payments, Chatbase for general enquiries, DropInBlog for blog content, and Revyoos and Trustindex for review and trust content. Custom scripts for these embedded tools run independently of Lodgify’s banner. Rejecting analytics in that banner does not block these tools. They can receive technical connection information when they load and may use browser storage according to their configuration.
We do not currently run our own advertising tracking or send promotional emails. Chatbase conversation history and contact collection are disabled, but submitted messages and technical information still need to be processed to generate replies.
4. Purposes and consent
- Strictly necessary functions: storage/access essential to a service you request, such as operating a required booking step, may be exempt from prior consent where the legal conditions are met.
- Other exempt purposes: UK rules provide some additional exceptions subject to specific conditions, clear information and, where required, a means to object. We do not assume an exception applies simply because a technology is described as useful or functional.
- Optional features: embedded chat, review, map and video technologies must be assessed by their actual purposes and configuration. Where prior consent is required, they must not store/access information until you choose to allow that purpose.
- Analytics: the website includes Google Analytics. The banner provides an optional analytics choice. Technologies requiring consent must wait until that consent is given; a banner alone does not establish that every custom integration is controlled correctly.
Continued browsing is not consent to technologies that require it. Consent must be an affirmative choice and must be capable of being withdrawn.
5. Provider references
The following links explain the providers’ technologies and privacy practices. A provider’s own website cookie list is not automatically the cookie list for an embed on our website.
Lodgify website, bookings and consent preferences
Website delivery, reservation flow and remembering privacy choices. Some functions may use cookies or other browser storage.
Stripe payments
Payment-session operation and fraud/security measures when payment features are used.
Chatbase chatbot
Optional general-question chatbot. Conversation history and contact collection are disabled in our configuration, but messages and technical information are processed to generate responses.
Revyoos reviews
Review-display widgets, including technical connections needed to retrieve content.
Trustindex reviews and trust widget
Review/trust content and technical connections when the widget loads.
DropInBlog
Blog delivery and related technical service information. Embedded-service storage and durations depend on the installed configuration.
Google Analytics, maps and embedded services
Google Analytics is enabled; maps or other Google content may also be embedded. The analytics panel identifies Codebay Solutions Limited as controller for its analytics category.
Vimeo and YouTube video content
Video-player services where embedded or opened. Provider storage and processing depend on the player and privacy settings.
For YouTube, see Google’s cookie information and Privacy Policy.
External booking platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, Sykes, Lakelovers and Visit Lake District operate their own sites and cookie controls when you visit them. Other accommodation-device providers are covered in our Privacy Notice; they are not automatically website cookie providers.
6. Cookie names, durations and storage inventory
Google documents default GA4 cookies _ga (distinguishes users) and _ga_<container-id> (persists session state), each with a default two-year expiry. These are provider defaults, not verified durations for this installation; configuration can change them. See Google’s GA4 cookie documentation.
Cookie and storage durations depend on the specific technology, its configuration and whether it is session-based or persistent. They are separate from our 30-day CCTV retention and from booking-record retention.
Lodgify’s linked template contains legacy entries and is not a verified inventory for our current website. The exact deployed names, host domains, purposes, durations and consent behaviour of built-in and custom tools remain to be checked. Provider website cookie lists must not be treated as proof of cookies used by embedded widgets.
Identified service cookies
ngx_geoip_cc: Lodgify describes this as a functional session cookie holding an IP-derived country for currency or locale; deleted at the end of the browser session._stickyon checkout.lodgify.com: Lodgify describes this as a necessary session-affinity cookie directing requests to the same backend server; deleted at the end of the browser session._ldgfy_c6y: previously observed session storage for the selected currency.chatbase_anon_id: previously observed session identifier associated with Chatbase.__cf_bmon .io.dropinblog.com: previously observed bot-management cookie with an approximately one-hour lifetime. A security purpose for an embedded service does not make that service essential to every visitor’s request.
This is a partial inventory of previously observed technologies and provider-confirmed purposes, not a guarantee that no other cookies or storage are used. Names and durations can change with provider updates, settings and the features visited. Lodgify’s older template is not a verified inventory of all custom tools.
7. Managing your choices
When Lodgify’s banner is displayed, use Customize to review the available categories, Reject all to decline optional analytics, or Allow all to accept. Required website and booking functions remain available subject to your browser settings. These choices control Lodgify’s covered integrations; they do not control our custom embedded tools.
Lodgify currently provides no persistent button or link for reopening its banner after a choice is saved. To obtain a fresh choice, clear this website’s cookies and stored preference in your browser and revisit the site. Lodgify says the new choice then applies to subsequent analytics, including checkout. This browser-reset procedure is a limitation of the current service, rather than an on-site withdrawal control.
You can inspect, delete or block cookies and other storage through your browser. Blocking storage needed for bookings or payments may prevent those functions from working. Clearing browser cookies does not cancel your booking or delete business records held about it.
For questions or help with a privacy request, contact [email protected]. Contacting us does not by itself change a stored browser preference. Provider settings may also be relevant to third-party services.
8. Further information and updates
For information about cookie/storage rules, see the ICO’s guidance on storage and access technologies.
We will review this policy when our services or settings change. Important changes will be reflected in the revision date and consent information where required.

9. Common cookie questions
Do you use Google Analytics or advertising tracking?
Yes, Google Analytics is enabled and the banner presents an optional analytics choice. We do not currently run our own advertising tracking. Booking tools, chat, blog and embedded content may also process technical information or use browser storage.
Are cookies the same as booking or camera records?
No. Browser storage durations are separate from booking records and the 30-day Ring recording period.
Can blocking cookies affect a booking?
Blocking storage necessary for a requested booking or payment function may prevent that function from working. Contact us if you need help completing a booking.
Does deleting cookies delete my booking?
No. Deleting browser cookies does not delete a confirmed booking or the records needed to administer it. See our Privacy & Data Protection notice for information about those records.
