EV Charging

1. No EV charging at our properties

Muddy Boots Escapes does not provide electric-vehicle charging at Scarpa, Arcade Royale or La Petite Mews. This applies to fully electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Please plan your journey and charging stops before arrival. A parking space, where provided, does not include permission or facilities to charge a vehicle.

2. Household sockets must not be used

Charging an electric vehicle from any household socket at the property is expressly prohibited. This includes indoor and outdoor sockets and charging through an extension lead or portable charging cable.

Do not run charging cables through doors or windows, across paths or shared areas, or from the property to a parked vehicle. Bringing your own charging equipment does not change this rule.

3. Planning charging away from the property

Please arrange charging at suitable public or other authorised charging facilities. Check the charging operator’s current information for connector compatibility, availability, access restrictions, opening hours and prices.

We do not guarantee the availability or operation of third-party chargers. Allow enough charge for your arrival, planned trips and departure, including an alternative charging option if your preferred charger is unavailable.

4. Safety and reporting concerns

If you notice an unauthorised charging connection or a related safety concern, please contact us promptly. Do not touch damaged cables or electrical equipment or attempt repairs. In an emergency, call 999.

If a breach causes damage or additional costs, any proposed charge will be assessed under our booking terms and Damage & Security Deposits policy. Any claim must reflect reasonable, evidenced loss attributable to the breach. We provide evidence and give you 48 hours to respond before taking payment, considering your response. Contact us promptly if you reasonably need more time. There is no automatic fixed penalty under this policy.

Frequently asked questions

Do any of your properties have an EV charger?

No. Scarpa, Arcade Royale and La Petite Mews do not provide electric-vehicle charging.

Can I use a household socket with my own charging cable?

No. Charging from indoor or outdoor household sockets is prohibited, including with portable charging equipment or an extension lead.

Does this apply to plug-in hybrids?

Yes. The rule applies to both fully electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.

Does parking include permission to charge?

No. A parking space, where provided, does not include charging facilities or permission to use the property’s electricity to charge your vehicle.

How should I arrange charging during my stay?

Plan suitable public or other authorised charging stops before travelling. Check the operator’s current information and have an alternative option; we cannot guarantee third-party charger availability.
