Pets & Assistance Dogs

1. Properties welcoming pet dogs

Pet dogs are welcome at Muddy Boots – Scarpa and Muddy Boots – Arcade Royale, subject to the rules below. Muddy Boots – La Petite Mews does not accept pet dogs. Assistance dogs are considered separately, as explained in section 4.

Please include your pet dogs in your booking details and check the arrangements for your chosen property before booking. Dogs are the only pets we accommodate; other pets are not permitted.

2. Number, age and charges

A maximum of two well-behaved pet dogs is permitted per stay at a property that accepts pet dogs. Pet dogs must be at least 1 year old; puppies under this age are not accepted.

The charge is £15 per pet dog per stay. Please check that the correct number of dogs is included in your booking and the charge is shown in your booking confirmation.

3. Looking after your dog during your stay

• Pet dogs must never be left unattended in the property.
• Keep pet dogs off furniture and beds.
• Keep your dog under control and prevent excessive barking or disturbance to neighbours.
• Clean up after your dog and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Bring the bedding, bowls and other supplies your dog needs; do not assume dog equipment is provided.

Please respect any property-specific access instructions and local rules when walking your dog. Contact us if you are unsure about outdoor space or suitable routes.

4. Assistance dogs and reasonable adjustments

Assistance dogs are treated separately from pet dogs. We will make reasonable adjustments for disabled guests in accordance with the Equality Act 2010, including considering access at La Petite Mews despite its usual no-pets policy.

Assistance dogs are not subject to the £15 pet charge. Pet-number and minimum-age restrictions are not applied automatically to assistance dogs; any relevant arrangements will be considered in the individual circumstances.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss arrangements, property access or an adjustment to a rule such as keeping dogs off furniture. Advance contact helps us prepare, but it does not remove your rights if you have not contacted us before booking.

We will discuss the assistance or arrangements you need without requiring unnecessary medical information. Any concern about a dog’s behaviour or a specific safety issue will be considered individually, alongside our duty to make reasonable adjustments.

5. Damage, cleaning and concerns

Please tell us promptly about damage, an accident or a problem involving your dog so that we can discuss what is needed.

Any proposed charge for damage or additional cleaning will be assessed under the booking terms, taking account of the circumstances, evidence and reasonable costs. Normal cleaning is not automatically charged again, and assistance-dog access or a reasonable adjustment does not itself attract an extra charge.

For a proposed damage charge, we will provide evidence and allow 48 hours for your response before taking payment, consider your response and any reasonable request for more time. No reply does not itself establish responsibility. The £250 direct-booking security pre-authorisation is not an automatic penalty. If a concern arises, we will discuss it with you and consider proportionate steps. This policy does not remove your statutory rights.

7. Common dog questions

Which properties allow pet dogs?

Scarpa and Arcade Royale. La Petite Mews does not accept pet dogs; assistance dogs are considered separately.

How many dogs can I bring and what does it cost?

Up to two well-behaved pet dogs at Scarpa or Arcade Royale, at £15 per dog per stay.

Can I bring a puppy?

Pet dogs must be at least 1 year old. This minimum-age rule is not automatically applied to assistance dogs.

Can my pet dog stay alone while I go out?

No. Pet dogs must never be left unattended at the property.

Are assistance dogs charged the pet fee?
